GRAND OPENING: MAY the 4th!
AI + Robotics Mentor
I'm interested in mentoring crewmembers at Launchpad because I believe in the power of hands-on learning and want to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers. With crewmembers, I hope to focus on projects involving electronics, programming, and robotics.
What could you learn about — or teach others about — without ever getting bored? I can teach robotics and building AI systems [without ever getting bored]. These are areas I'm passionate about and have extensive experience in.
Fun facts about me: I worked on a lunar robot from CMU that went to space last year, and I've also worked on robots that clean airports through my work at Carnegie Robotics. Additionally, I've won over 30 robotics competitions!
Coding + Robotics Mentor
I am eager to mentor at LaunchPad because I want to share my passion for technology with the next generation and help them explore its potential across various fields, from video games and robotics to analytics. I hope to teach kids how to build and modify/build computers, create/modify video games, and automate everyday tasks.
What could you learn about — or teach others about — without ever getting bored? I have a deep love for building and customizing computers.
Fun facts about me: I have a 2 year old husky name Boba Fett.
Digital Media + Content Mentor
I think I have always been someone who is passionate about discovering new things (tech, stories, games, whatever) and then sharing those discoveries with interested people. Teaching has always been a passion of mine and it's something I no longer get to do as much. Selfishly, I think I learn far more from crewmembers than they ever learn from me - but that's what makes it fun!
I am definitely a tech person - especially film and television. But also photography, computers, video games and even something like board game design would be super fun.
What could you learn about — or teach others about — without ever getting bored? Television and film for starters - but I love a good theory from a story. I think one of the best parts of being in a fandom is seeing how other people can read the same text as I do but how they see things completely differently. What does that mean? How can that happen? And what's more - how does it change the text for you as you keep moving forward with it?! I could talk about stuff like this for HOURS.
Fun facts about me: I enjoy sports - learning them and playing them and coaching them. I am a lifelong Vikings and Twins fan.
Graphic Design + Branding/UX Mentor
I’m really excited to mentor at Launchpad because I love seeing innovative project take place (it’s the nerd in me). But also who doesn’t want to be a part of such a powerful initiative!
I am an engineer by trade who really enjoys combining the tech-y with the artsy. I’d like to work with students on projects intersecting technology and design, especially those exploring the "why" behind what we build.
What could you learn about — or teach others about — without ever getting bored? I can never get tired of exploring the “why” and “how” in everything. I like to just learn -- especially when it comes to a UX/UI Design.
Fun facts about me: I have been growing an avocado tree for the last two years in my tiny apartment.
