At Launchpad, gifted youth ages 11–18 pursue independent projects with tools, peers and mentors in West Dallas. A question can lead to code, a design, a prototype or a new skill.
Explore how software and physical components work together. Public Launchpad projects include weather-balloon instruments, radio links, programmable controls and an RFID badging system.
Develop ideas through 3D design, printing and fabrication. A project can move between digital models, materials and a working prototype as a student tests and improves it.
Creative ideas can involve design, digital media, audio production and music. Launchpad’s facilities and mentor community support project work across the arts and technology.
A metronome brings music and electronics together. Weather measurement combines design, coding and science. Students can follow a project across disciplines and learn from peers as they work.
These examples describe independent membership projects and capabilities, not scheduled instructor-led courses. Particular tools and projects depend on suitability and supervision. A parent or guardian can request an application through the on-site Apply page; acceptance is separate.
